Arabica Coffee Beans:

The most popular one among  coffee beans is without any doubt, Arabica beans. %60 of the world's coffee beans are Arabica beans. These beans might be the first coffee beans ever consumed, which originated in Ethiopia. The struggle is, Arabica beans are hard to grow compared to other beans. Because, Arabica beans need extra shade, high altitude and water. Since these beans are more sensitive to plant diseases, they need to grow at an altitude of at least 2000 feet. But what about their tastes? First of all, Arabica beans are considered as the highest quality among other beans. These beans are mostly known for their lack of bitterness and smooth and complex flavor. Depending on where they are grown, Arabica beans may offer different varieties of flavors such as floral or earthy.

Robusta Coffee Beans:

Second best-known coffee bean type is Robusta. It first originated in Sub-Saharan Africa. This bean is primarily grown in Africa and Indonesia. It’s less expensive compared to Arabica coffee beans. Robusta coffee beans are considered harder to other bean varieties because they are resistant to plant diseases and heat more, compared to the other ones. About the taste of these beans, they have a more bitter taste and it’s harsher than Arabica coffee beans. Even though coffee gourmets mostly are not a fan of this bean, there are of course fans of it too. So you can never know without trying!

They're also lower in caffeine and fragrance, but yet have a surprising depth of flavor. These odd beans are sometimes found in blends because they add complexity.
